Hey guys, today I will tell you can use devlopr jekyll theme

There can be two scenarios :

  1. Using devlopr-starter Template - If you don’t have a jekyll blog
  2. Changing your current theme - If you already got a jekyll blog

In both the cases you might need to install Ruby, as Jekyll requires Ruby. So make sure you already have Ruby Installed:

Installing bundler

gem install bundler

1. Using devlopr-starter Template

If you are new to Jekyll, want to create a new blog with devlopr jekyll theme. Its super easy to get started. All you need to do is:

Head over to

Click the Use this Template Button

Choose a name for the repo for eg. myblog

Clone the repo locally

git clone

Inside myblog project, edit _config.yml to your preferences:

Install the dependencies

bundle install

Run the blog locally - bundle exec jekyll serve

You can visit the blog at http://localhost:4000

You can modify, add or remove posts in the _posts

folder. Categories in the `categories` folder. 

All the Images should be kept inside - _site/assets/img

The image url path being - /assets/img/yourimage.png

2. Changing your current Blog Theme

If you already have a blog, and want to change the theme. Follow the below steps:

Inside your jekyll blog. Edit the following files and replace accordingly :


title: Your Blog # the title of your blog

subtitle: A Blog Created using devlopr-starter # subtitle of your blog

description: >- # this means to ignore newlines until "baseurl:"
 Anyone can create their own blog using devlopr 

baseurl: "" # the subpath of your site, e.g. /blog
url: "" # the base hostname & protocol for your site, e.g.

# All the images can be found at - /_site/assets/img/

Install the theme gem

bundle install

Download devlopr-starter template and copy all the files inside your blog folder - _posts, categories, about, contact. This will create the pages when building the site.

Run the app locally :

bundle exec jekyll serve

This will serve the blog in http://localhost:4000
